Delta Electrics welcomes on board new staff members
Mon, 20 June 2011
Delta has recently employed a number of new staff to help it cope with the ever expanding workload and growth of the company. Our new recruits are:
Ken Hyde – Sales Manager
Ken was born in Manchester England and moved to Australia in 1970 and grew up in Adelaide. He worked as the National Distribution Manager for Walker Exhaust until he moved to Mackay QLD where he purchased and ran his own Business (a Mobil Service Station and Battery Wholesale Business) for 11 Years.
A couple of years ago Ken sold up the business, packed up his belongings and bought a Caravan to travel around Australia. After a year or so on the road he ended up in Darwin working for a stint in managing a couple of petrol stations and as Sales Manager for Darwin Nuts and Bolts before joining Delta.
His hobbies are Harley Davidson motor bikes and Golf. Ken is a self-confessed workaholic who doesn't mind a quiet Bourbon on a fairly regular basis (though not when riding his Harley of course!).
Tim Farndon – Sales Executive
Tim is almost a local. Originally from Adelaide Tim moved up to Darwin with his family as a young lad and has been in the Territory for the past 26 Years. He has more than 18 years experience in Sales as was previously employed in Sales at Force Hire before joining Delta.
He lives on a Rural property near Humpty Doo and is engaged with three Kids - all Girls! (God help him) Tim is the proud owner of 4 dogs, 3 Chooks, one horse and about a million Fish. His lists as his hobbies Fishing and Camping (and also is known to enjoy the odd Bourbon).
Vijay Paladugu – Project Manager
At the tender age of 27, Vijay claims to be the Youngest Project Manager in the Northern Territory and one of the youngest in Australia (and most handsome). He is a qualified Electronics Engineer with a Masters in Engineering Management and a Masters in Business Administration.
Vijay is Certified in PLC & SCADA Systems and Microsoft Systems with design experience in in Electronic Security, Airport Security, IT, Retail & Hospitality applications. He has been involved in many High profile contracts for the NT Government and major companies operating in the Territory.
Originally from India, Vijay is now a proud Aussie who calls this beautiful country his home. His hobbies include Fishing (Vijay is an active civilian member in the RAAF Darwin Fishing Club), reading and playing computer games.
Shane Fletcher – Counter Sales
Shane is another Adelaide lad recently moved to Darwin. He is a fully qualified panel-beater with 8 years industry experience happily working for a Darwin panel-beating firm when he broke his arm playing soccer. Shane is a keen soccer player and was badly injured when going for a header – an opposing player took out his legs forcing shane to the ground and snapping his arm when he landed very heavily.
No longer able to swing a panel-beaters hammer, Shane decided to pursue a change in career and landed a job with Delta in counter sales. Shane, with his great mechanical aptitude and dedicated customer focus has quickly become a valued member of the sales team.
When not playing or watching soccer, Shane also likes to tinker with cars and is currently restoring a HR Holden (an Aussie classic) and is a proud owner of a 1941 Chevy pick-up (another classic car).
